Core Conditioning - Kent Personal Trainer

After many years of collecting (and not using) gym memberships and failed attempts at attending personal training sessions, I decided to try Core Conditioning. I wanted a trainer near to home so that I could train and not use work as an excuse not to exercise.

I met with Matt and we discussed my aims and my previous exercise failures. The following week we embarked on a weight-loss and fitness plan and I haven't looked back. I was sceptical about the lifestyle change Matt was proposing, but I have to confess it has happened. My eating habits have changed and I now make the time for training rather than staying in the office late into the night.

Matt works to understand his clients and what motivates them. He tuned in to what makes me tick very early in our training, and found ways to keep me motivated to reach my goals.

Exercising outside in fabulous surroundings also makes the training sessions more interesting. No two sessions have been the same, which not only keeps me on my toes, but also pushes me to the limit each time.

Since training with Matt, I have found myself undertaking activities that I would never previously have considered, even yomping through the snow for two hours carrying an enormous backpack! In the summer Matt helped me train for a 5km run and over Christmas, devised a bespoke programme of intense training which got some amazing results.

Training with Matt has not only helped me to lose weight and get fit, but it has also made me more willing to try things I wouldn't previously have considered. More importantly it has given me my confidence back.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Matt to anyone looking for a personal trainer.

Having worked out for some years, I considered myself to be pretty fit when I started training with Matt at Core conditioning. But with his help, I soon discovered that there was a wider range to exercise routines, that I could push myself harder and achieve a much higher level of fitness than ever. Matt has a great ability to encourage self belief and determination whilst bringing a lot of humour and fun into tough workout sessions.

Within the first six weeks of training, I lost 7lbs, reduced my overall body fat percentage, and doubled my overall fitness levels. In addition, I have successfully competed in a 5k & 10k race. I am now in training for half a marathon, which without Matt’s support and encouragement would not have been attainable.

Matt has always maintained a professional and reliable service which is essential with a baby around. Training with Matt is not just about fitness it's about taking time to develop a positive mental attitude. I look forward to my sessions as much as for physical development as to the effect it has on my performance in my home life - and much to my surprise I really enjoy it! His considerate and confident approach was supported by a clear enthusiasm to research his subject well, passing on to me a level of confidence in my preparation for the running challenges that set him apart from any trainer beforehand or since and rightly so.

I strongly recommend Matt to anyone looking for the very best in personal trainers - results guaranteed!

Matt Lyons has been assisting me with the arduous task of training for the London marathon; which involves getting me race fit, within 16 weeks. Matt’s dedication and patience (especially the patience!) Is outstanding. He offers sound advice and training in a relaxed, yet focused, enjoyable manner. He’s put together an achievable program for me, concentrating on my strengths yet pushing my abilities to the limit. I would without doubt recommend Matt’s services as a personal trainer, as it makes a welcome change to train somewhere other than a gym.

I often attend his military training class, which is held outside and have also met a great group of new friends who also enjoy the challenge of this type of exercise regime.

Here’s to finishing the 26 mile! I couldn’t have done it without your help Matt!

Matt has been an inspiration for us since joining his ‘Core-Conditioning’ training program. He has given us the confidence to take part in physical activities we never would have even considered a year ago. When we look back to our first training session it is hard to believe the improvement he has managed to achieve in our levels of fitness. Little did we realise that from that first wheezy warm up we would now be looking back at the amount we have managed to accomplish this year. Together we have completed the Cliff 10 km run, the Shorne Park 5mile race and a 20 mile hike across the North Downs. For the coming year we are training for our first half marathon which is something we never imagined being capable of. Matt has always taken our safety very seriously and apart from the usual aches and pains we have come out of this as fitter and healthier people. We still have a long way to go but with Matt’s encouragement and rigorous training techniques we have absolute confidence he will help us achieve our goals.

When I was asked to return tomy post in East Africa as an Expedition Leader for Greenforce UK, after a long absence due to an ankle injury, I knew I had to get fit again... and fast!

I contacted Matt, who immediately organised a tailor-made training regime that not only suited my heavy work load, but also took into consideration my ankle injury and short time-frame.

Now, due to Matts support, expertise and motivation, I am ready to returm to Tanzania with the aim of training six Maasai Warriors to run the London Marathon in 2008!

I got in touch with Matt about 7 weeks ago, concerning my 9 1/2 year old daughter.

Matt has a friendly and positive attitude towards working with my daughter, which put my mind at ease, as I was unsure of introducing a Personal Trainer to her. Matt takes the time to explain any questions that me or my daughter may have. He makes training fun but productive at the same time.

'Matts Fab! The training gets harder, but it's fun to do. I have done the training programme for 6 weeks or more and lost 4 1/2 pounds, 1 1/2 inches off my waist and 1/2 inch off my hips. My heart is normal speed now. Some of the training we do involves sit-ups, press-ups, jogging, crunches and much much more. My favourite part is when Matt brings his boxing gloves and I get to use them on him'.

As a potential Royal Marine, currently undertaking the Reserve Forces Commando Course, I implicitly understand the need for good physical training.

Corporal Lyons military fitness programme has allowed me to develop my fitness, self esteem and self motivation.

The training is progressive and I am always taxed, but training with corporal Lyons and the group, gives me the motivation to work myself harder than I would have thought possible.

The sessions cover all levels and abilities, from beginner through to ninja fit!
